Will it work with my TV?
It connects to TVs with an optical (digital audio) output, a 3.5mm headphone socket or red and white audio outputs. A TV with only HDMI sockets won't connect directly. Use the TV checker.
Is this a hearing aid?
No. Sonivra is a personal TV listening device, not a hearing aid or medical device. If you've noticed a change in your hearing, speak to your GP or a hearing care professional.
Are these Bluetooth headphones?
No. Sonivra uses its own dedicated 2.4GHz digital transmitter rather than Bluetooth, so there is nothing to pair with your TV.
Can everyone else still hear the TV?
Usually, yes. Depending on your TV's sound settings, the television speakers can keep playing while you listen through the headset. Some TVs switch their speakers off when the headphone socket is used.
Can I wear it with glasses?
Yes. Nothing goes over your head or around your ears. The ear tips sit just inside the ear, so it isn't designed to be worn over in-ear hearing aids.
Is it complicated to set up?
You set it up once: plug in the base and connect it to your TV. After that, switch on the headset to watch and rest it on the base to charge. If you get stuck, contact us and we'll talk you through it.
Does it work with Sky, Freeview or Virgin boxes?
Connect Sonivra to the device that has a free audio output, usually the TV itself, which passes on the sound from your box. If a soundbar already uses your TV's optical socket, contact us first and we'll suggest the simplest option.
I'm buying for a parent. What should I check?
Check their TV's sockets using the TV checker, or ask them to send you a photo of the back of the set. Setup is a one-off job.
What if it doesn't suit me?
